Day 11 Japan Missions

Having completed the tasks for which we came to Japan, the day's goal was to ride a Bullet Train, a train on a high speed railway. Speeds approach 200 miles per hour on these trains

In order to catch a Bullet Train, we had to catch the regular trains. Rail transportation in Japan is a major means of passenger transportation. Catching the trains on our own after Don's careful instructions the night before gave us a good feeling of accomplishment.

Before we started our train rides of the day, we ate breakfast at various restaurants at the train station. To our surprise, God appointed us to run into the first time visitor we met at the Yachiyo Church reading program the day before again at the train station with another one of her children

God also appointed us to run into Naomi (a common name in Japan). Naomi is a member of the Yachiyo church. She initially came to know Jesus while living with her husband in Singapore. Naomi is a widow now yet the joy of the Lord was evident in her each time we talked with her and she was very glad that the mission team came.

We met and talked with many friendly people in Japan.

On our way to the Bullet train, we met Adrian, an American who has been working in Japan for five years. Adrian is a christian attending a Baptist church in Japan. Adrian told us about his experience of living in Japan. As Christians make up less than half of one percent of the population, Adrian said our encounter with us made his day.

The seats inside the Bullet train remind you of airplane seats
