Sunday, Day 2

We woke up in a new country, humidity, and beauty. At 7:30am we started the day with a hardy breakfast! We also packed our lunches for the day ahead of us. After our meal, we broke off to do our daily devotions. We are studying the story of Joseph. Today's verse is Colossians 3:12, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."

In the Bahamas, Sunday is a gift to man to rest. We visited Calvary Bible Church this morning. It was one of the nicer churches on the island, very blessed with AC, modern music and technology, and interior design. We sang several hymns and modern worship songs we were familiar with. Everyone was very welcoming. They welcomed Pastor Brennan and his wife back, as he used to be their youth pastor.

We had the opportunity to visit Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island. The ocean was crystal clear and blue! We saw some fish, including one mini fish that looked like a sword fish, but wasn't. We did see a stingray! Super cool! We enjoyed the salty water more than the beach because it was so hot. A storm was rolling in, which dropped the temperature a bit. The kids enjoyed throwing a football in the water, sand volleyball, and burying Jace in the sand. Some of us did walk away with burns; please pray for skin safety and prevention precautions as the sun is very direct.

James Justice had his birthday today! We celebrated with ice cream cake, which was such a delicious treat after a humid day!

After dinner, we broke up into two groups - Team Jordy and Team Dale. Our goal tonight was to prepare VBS for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Monday and Tuesday, Team Jordy and Team Dale will be splitting to minister to two different special needs locations. Bahamas Down's Syndrome, or also known as the downs' home (that is literally how the Bahamians refer to it) is a safe place for those with down syndrome. And Bahamas Association of Physically Disabled consists of ages 5-25 who struggle with mental disabilities. Team Dale will be going to A.P.D. Team Jordy will be going to the downs home. Tuesday, we switch! The VBS we will be providing will be a very basic and simple. Stay tuned. We'll keep you posted! Thanks AGAIN for all your prayers! Please continue to pray for us to be a blessing to those we minister to, a light in a dark place, and for good health and safety. We love each of you. Sincerely,

The Bahamas Team 2018
